I have 2 holiday lets on a rural farm in Carmarthenshire. I do holiday letting to provide an income, as farming is so unprofitable these days.
i strongly object to this scheme;
a) being taxed on this income in this manner; I already pay healthy taxes
b) the need for registration; it is simply bureaucracy gone mad
c) becoming a tax collector for the local government or Welsh government and therby providing free data to the same authorities
d) the bad signal this sends to tourists
e) the undeniably bad effect that it will have on visitor numbers
f) it is unlikely to have any effect on "sustainable tourism"
Please do NOT bring this scheme into effect.
The Regulatory Impact Assessment is set out in Part 2 of the Explanatory Memorandum (https://senedd.wales/media/g5ipwvwh/pri-ld16812-em-e.pdf). This includes the Welsh Government’s assessments of the financial and other impacts of the Bill and its implementation.

See my previous answers. Overall you will incur anger from hardworking hosts who don't need this nonsense.
